GPTForms ("we", "our", or "us") operates the GPTForms website and Google Workspace Add-on. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal data in a transparent and secure manner.
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use our website, application, or services.
1. Information We Collect
In order to provide our service, we collect the following categories of information:
- Account Information: When you sign up or log in via Firebase Authentication, we collect your Google email address, display name, and unique user identifier (UID) to authenticate your account and track your quota limitations.
- Content Submissions: To generate quizzes and forms, we process the YouTube video URLs, video transcripts, plain text content, or PDF filenames that you submit. This data is transmitted securely to the Gemini API for analysis. Transcripts and input texts are processed in-memory and are not stored permanently on our servers.
- Transaction Data: Subscription payments are processed via Lemon Squeezy (our Merchant of Record). We receive transactional details (such as subscription state, status, email, and transaction ID) to activate your Pro license, but we never store or process your credit card numbers or financial passwords.
- Usage Metrics: We log general request statistics (such as the number of quizzes generated, timestamp, and language) to monitor our API limits, prevent abuse, and optimize server resources.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following purposes:
- To run and manage your account and subscription.
- To process transcripts and generate multiple-choice questions via Gemini AI.
- To enforce rate limits and subscription plan quotas (e.g., 5 free quizzes for Starter plan users).
- To provide customer support and respond to messages sent through our contact form.
- To improve our user interface, product functionality, and server stability.
3. Data Sharing and Third-Party Services
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share information only with trusted service providers who help us run the platform:
- Google Firebase: Used for secure user authentication, database quota tracking, and cloud hosting.
- Google Gemini API: Used to generate quiz questions and answers from your submitted transcripts.
- Lemon Squeezy: Used as our payment processor and merchant of record.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account authentication metadata and subscription status as long as your account remains active. Content files or YouTube transcripts processed during generation are stored transiently and deleted from memory immediately after the form items are built.
5. Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your data, including HTTPS/SSL encryption for all data in transit and restricted Firebase database access rules.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit the use of your personal data. You can request deletion of your account and related data at any time by contacting us through our support form.
